My review:  Sweet Sanctuary is like candy for the reader who loves to read about other people helping others, even when they also need help of their own.  I  have read a lot of Kim Vogel Sawyer's books and I have loved every single one of them. Sweet Sanctuary is her newest book and it is one of the best that I have read. The way that she writes about and describes each character you feel as if you know all of them.  This is very important in a story because you come to understand why a character acts the way that they do. Lydia Eldredge is the single mother of a young boy who she has named Nicky. She is a very doting  mother and caring person. But, the year is 1944 and it is very much different now, then it was in 1944, for single mothers.  Nicky's father, Nicolai Pankin, is a man who wants to see his son, but he is addicted to drugs and the kind of person that you seem to dislike from the beginning. Dr. Micah Hatcher is a man who uses his talents as a doctor to take care of the immigrants in Queens, New York.  Micah also likes Lydia and wants to help her and Nicky. They are both doing all that they can to serve and help the poor who God seems to send them all the while keeping Nicky safe. The question is one of  hope for the future ,serving others and love, can they prevail with so many  problems facing them? I give this book a 5/5 I really loved it. I was given this book by Litfuse Publicity Group for a honest review. All my opinions are 100% my own. http://litfusegroup.com/author/KSawyer
